Spring Update 2019

Spring Update 2019

Hello April

Spring has definitely sprung here at Travellers Rest Farm. With lighter nights and warmer days !! (hopefully), time to get out and about in the North York Moors National Park.. The birds are in full nest building mode, singing whilst gathering straw from the cow sheds.

Wild daffodils are in full bloom, especially in Farndale on the daffodil walk a fifteen minute drive from the cottage.

Enjoy the tranquil walk alongside the river Dove. Never before have I seen so many beautiful daffodils, a total blanket of yellow trumpets truly stunning. The history books state that the monks from the nearby Rievaulx Abbey planted them.

These Daffodils are still in full bloom a little bit later than regular daffodils; they seem a lot smaller and more robust whilst very sheltered along the river side. We parked up at Church houses and walked to Low mill, but you can do either, car parks at both ends. The Feathersham Arms a traditional village pub at Church houses was very inviting and just had to be visited for rehydration purposes
