Thank you once again for a fantastic holiday. We love staying at Travellers Rest, always so clean and welcoming its like home from home. We have been staying every year since you opened, we love the peace and quiet. Look forward to staying again next year.
Thank you for a great stay, its been lovely to be able to sit outside and enjoy the scenery. The walk to Ugthorpe is peaceful and I even found some blackberries.
We have really enjoyed our stay at your cottage which is spotless. On our arrival we treated ourselves to an Afternoon tea which we highly recommend. Thank you for the opportunity of feeding the calves, this is something that we will remember for a long time. Thank you for the warm welcome and for making our short break so enjoyable.
We holiday in cottages regularly, this one is by far the cleanest and loveliest we have stayed in. It is warm and inviting and the hosts Emma and Michael are very friendly and accommodating. An excellent location for so many interesting places to visit. Thank you for a great week.
This is our `happy place`, we love it here, Emma Michael and their family. The location is perfect for exploring the North Yorkshire Moors and the North East Coast line. Places we recommend : Falling Foss and their tea garden. Ravenscar and the teas rooms next to the cinder track with beautiful views of Robin Hoods Bay. Bev and Bobs Brew organic tea garden at Glaisdale - free tour of the tiered garden. The cottage remains at a really high standard of cleanliness and comfort; that is why we keep coming back.
We have had a wonderful time in your cosy cottage over Christmas, very well equipped to cook Christmas dinner. Lovely and clean, warm and in an excellent location for exploring North Yorkshire and the east coast. Thank you for the beautiful Christmas tree and the goodies you left. We don`t want to leave and will be back when the cows are out in the fields .
2021 / 2022 COMMENTS
Flicking through the visitors book we noted that we appear to be in the relatively unique position of being a first time visitor to the cottage. Having now spent a wonderful week here we understand why there is so much repeat custom !! Travellers Rest is a comfortable, warm cottage in a great location.
Thank you all for yet another amazing stay at your farm. The children just love being here and able to `help out' with the calves. As usual the cottage is always spotless - a home from home. We are all sad to be leaving.
Thank you so much for another wonderful holiday my longest yet. The fact that I have been coming to stay at the cottage for eleven years now, usually twice a year says it all. The quality of everything about the cottage is outstanding.
2020
Our stay at Travellers Rest Cottage was excellent. The cottage matched the pictures and the expectations we had after seeing the accommodation online. We booked last minute as restrictions from Covid 19 were lifted a little and Emma could not have done anything more to make the whole place safe. It was spotlessly clean and well equipped The view from the patio is beautiful and the surrounding area is outstandingly beautiful. It was just what we needed. Would highly recommend. Thank you for a great stay.

"Enjoyed our stay here at Travellers Rest Farm Cottage, the real Christmas tree up made it feel welcoming and festive. Loved the views. Runswick and Robinhoods Bay our favorites, the Board Inn at Lealholm was our favorite place to eat. Dog friendly as well . Many thanks for the welcome gifts, we really enjoyed our stay".

"We have had a lovely week back at the Travellers Rest. The weather has been beautiful. Visited Saltburn, Sandsend and Whitby. Had a lovely meal at the Black Bull, fish and chips at Saltburn Seaview cafe were delicious too! Done lots of walking to burn off the calories! "I booked this cottage for a treat for my parents and my mums birthday. Well it certainly was a treat. A beautiful cottage, so cosy at this time of year. It was Goth weekend in Whitby and the sights were a delight to see. Thank you Emma and Michael your place is a delight and the welcome pack was a lovely thoughtful surprise".
"Wonderful short break in this cosy cottage. Autumn colours on the moors were wonderful. Halloween Day at Ormesby Hall was superb. Fantastic sun rises and sunsets from the cottage. Thank you for the welcome gifts etc. The Lanterns on Halloween were a lovely surprise. Hope to book for next year". E&B
"Short break this time, 8th year for us and the dogs but first time for our three grandaughters aged 6, 7 and 8 years and they loved it, spent time at North Yorks Moors visitor centre Danby and then to Hutton le Hole to Rydale Folk Museum, well worth a visit we have an annual family ticket now. Educational for the girls, plenty of dressing up and playing in the school room. The sun came out and off to visit Whitby to the magpie for take away fish and chips at the bandstand. The sun is shining a look around the farm and at the milking machines then off to the beach at Sandsend. We have had a busy few days which we have thoroughly enjoyed. The cottage is still amazing the cleanest and well equipped we`ve ever been in. Thank you once again Emma and Michael".
"Thank you so much for the amazing time we have had here! We have visited here three previous times before and love it. The dogs, cats and chickens. We love going to Whitby and playing on the beach, rockpooling and the arcades. Alpamare Swimming centre has lots of amazing slides. Thank you so much" !!! H & G
"This was our third visit and we can`t wait to come back again. The view is absolutely stunning, the cows always delight and we particularly love the toffee highlands. Emma and Michael were welcoming as ever and once again we went to the Staithes Festival on Emma`s recommendation. Thank you Yorkshire we love you and this delightful cottage is the icing on the cake".
